by Carol McClain   @carol_mcclain Who judges? Not me! We all exclaim not me, yet… Recently I read an article in The Washington Post. Lizzy Velasquez was a bubbly, happy child until she went to school. She’d been born with a rare metabolic disease that makes her unable to maintain any body fat. She has 0%. If you’re like …[ read more ]

With no familial example, he turned to drugs by the time he was thirteen. By his mid-twenties, he’d been twice married, twice divorced. He lost …[ read more ]

Posted on Monday, September 28th, 2015 | Filed under Blog | Tagged: generosity, heavenly rewards, mercy, rewards on earth

This could’ve been mine! My case is hopeless. I have no reward awaiting me in paradise. None. I’ve spent it all here on earth, but to be honest, I’ve tried to add jewels to my heavenly crown. I’ve worked to make my life the purest gold (or at least silver). And it’s all God’s fault. …[ read more ]

My case is hopeless. I have no reward waiting for me in heaven. None.             I’ve spent it all here on earth. I tried not to. I’ve tried to save them for heaven, but no matter how hard I try, I always get back more than I give. Only a few samples of my …[ read more ]

  • My Joseph’s Coat
Posted on Sunday, July 19th, 2009 | Filed under Uncategorized | Tagged: blessings, mercy

Sometimes I imagine myself in heaven pulling up a fluffy cloud, rolling up the sleeves of my hand knit, cashmere saint’s robe and having a heart to heart with an angel. In this scenario she will tell me all the times that Jesus intervened in my life, times I knew nothing about. I wonder how …[ read more ]

    • The Purpose of Suffering

Carol McClain I love stained glass. Whenever I post a picture, swarms of friends beg for lessons. They never count the cost. How to make stained glass:   Choose the glass. The process begins with a nice, but uninteresting, unrefined product. Take a sharp blade. Cut and break the glass according to the pattern. Be sure to have bandaids on hand. You will cut yourself. Grind the glass. No matter how careful you are, the piece won't fit perfectly, so you need to grind. Again, keep the bandaids on hand. Wash the glass.
