@carol_mcclain I was training for my first marathon. I’d left my running partner and headed for my cool-down when suddenly a HUGE boulder (aka: a pebble) lept out of the ground and tripped me up. I tumbled. I felt like I rolled head over keister. Worse than the mild concussion and bruised muscles and scraped skin, …[ read more ]

By: Carol McClain        carol_mcclain We’ve all been crushed by ruthless (or clueless people). Seeing as everyone sins, Christians included, we often rub shoulders with arrogant, rude, know-it-all, clueless people who tromp all over us. Sometimes it hits closer to home with more devastating consequences when parents, children, or spouses crush our spirits. We need to forgive. …[ read more ]

Carol McClain       @carol_mcclain The elders in my daughter’s church handed out rocks. These weren’t pretty, soothing objects like worry rocks or quartz or painted ones with happy messages or water-smoothed pebbles. Each was large enough to hold but oddly shaped and rough. The pastor instructed us to hold the stone throughout the service. Being the obsessively …[ read more ]

by Carol McClain @carol_mcclain Are you like me? (If not–kudos. I’m a mite on the loopy end of sanity). If you are like me, you must’ve hung onto Jeremiah 29:11. “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’” declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you hope …[ read more ]

By Carol McClain @carol_mcclain Did you realize if you drank yesterday’s poison, you would still die? Lately, my blogs have dealt with the power of forgiveness. Forgiving never condones. It sets you free. Furthermore, friendships are critical to our lives. Without the power of honest friends, we may never be able to forgive. Today, I’m taking a …[ read more ]
